Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting HLTAID004

This unit describes the skills and knowledge to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults.

It applies to educators and support staff working within an educational and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmastic ans ananphylactic emergencies.

You could be the difference between life and death.

Course objectives:

  • Respond in an emergency situation
  • Apply appropriate emergency first aid procedures
  • Communicate details of the incident
  • Evaluate in incident and own performance

Group training is available in your venue.

Assessment: This units have written and practical assessments, participants must demonstrate competence in recognising, communicating and responding in an emergency situation. If you have literacy difficulties then a trainer may be able to assist you with a verbal assessment.
